2024 SUMMER EMPLOYEES NEEDED:
Requirements:
- Age – minimum of 14 yrs old for concessions or must be 15 yrs old to complete the lifeguard certification course.
- Certification – There several ways to become certified, which consists of approximately 25 hours. The cost is the responsibility of the student but the City will reimburse you 50% of the cost at the end of season 1 and the other 50% at the end of season 2.
* The American Red Cross Lifeguarding program provides students with skills to keep patrons of aquatic facilities safe in and around the water. This program includes training in First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Must be at least 15 years of age before the end of the course. *Students must attend all three days to receive certification* Lifeguarding certification is valid for 2 years from the completion date.

The City usually offers a training in Grundy Center, however, it’s become difficult to find a trainer and plan around all Spring and Summer sports and postseason schedules. No dates have been set as of now. Often students choose to register and be trained at one of the options above.

2024 Sports Complex Concessions Manager:
The Grundy Center City Council is seeking a person/persons to manage the operation of the concession stand at the George Wilhelm Sports Complex from May-July. This is a paid position. The person selected will be responsible for menu, inventory, food preparation, scheduling, and supervising employees. Applications will be received by the City Clerk’s Office before 4:00pm on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
